Just outside a trading centre (small town) called Akageti, you turn off the main road onto a murram road. Follow the bumpy road for 8 km until you see a sign indicating our place.
By car: Akageti is about 1.5 hours past Masaka. To get to the camp, turn left about 1 km after Akageti trading center. You’ll see our signs on the highway, follow them all the way to camp.
By bus: At the Bakuri bus terminal in Kampala, catch Global Bus heading to Masaka/Mbarara and ask them to drop you at Akageti.
In Akageti, you can either take a boda to camp for 5,000 UGX or hire a car for 40,000 UGX. Contact us ahead of time to have transport ready for you when you arrive.
By car: Continue past the Sanga gate & trading center. After 10 km, you will get to Chapa trading center (there’s a big blue building on the right). Continue through Chapa and turn right after 4 km. You’ll see all the signs on the highway that will lead directly to the camp.
By public transport: Mbara is about an hour away from Akageti, so you have plenty of public transport options: Global Bus, taxi or private car. Ask to be dropped at Akageti.
In Akageti, you can either take a boda to camp for 5,000 UGX or hire a car for 20,000 UGX. Contact us ahead of time to have transport ready for you when you arrive.
From Jinja, Kigali, or Nairobi:
There are plenty of buses that make the trip from Nairobi to Kigali that pass through Akageti: Simba Coach, Modern Coast and Mash Poa. Contact us for help with bus schedules and travel arrangements.
