Leopard Rest Camp, Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda

Bird Watching

Did you know that you can see half of Africa’s bird species right here in Uganda? And the area around Lake Mburo National Park has 350 recorded species alone! There are plenty that call Leopard Rest Camp home too; it’s hard to miss the colony of weaver birds nesting in acacia trees beside the restaurant or the sound of starlings and woodpeckers throughout the day.

This area is the only place in Uganda to spot some very rare winged beauties, including the African Finfoot and the Red-Faced Barbet.

Learn in-depth about all the different bird species with our knowledgeable guide. They will take you around the local area and help you spot all kinds of bird species and identify their calls.
